La Canourgue, a meeting place for singles

Every year since 1982, La Canourgue has hosted its traditional Singles Fair.
For two days, everything is organized so that everyone can “have fun and meet new people”.
The event was created by Raymond Deltour and Yves Lafon, members of the Comité des Fêtes de La Canourgue.
The initial aim was twofold: to help Lozère singles find their soul mates, and to create an event for the off-season.
The first edition was a simple ball, but it soon became a huge success.
Today, with the fore's renown, which attracts between 400 and 500 people from all over France, the date has been moved to Easter weekend.
With a program that has grown over the years... offering hikes, visits, discovery of the Gorges du Tarn, tea dances, meals, entertainment, balls and even a strip-tease show!
And it's not unusual for the organizers to receive wedding or birth announcements from former bachelors who met at La Canourgue.

Unfortunately, this event is no longer held and is unlikely to be resumed...
