The Caussenarde Farm of days gone by

Located on the Causse Méjean, a Unesco World Heritage site in the north of Languedoc-Roussillon, this farmhouse with its limestone slate roofs and vaulted ceilings has stood still for a century...
For just over 50 years, the Caussenarde farmhouse of yesteryear has been open to the public, recounting the lives of the Causse's inhabitants.
From the cowshed to the sheepfold, from the kitchen to the “souilhardo”, from the bedrooms to the attic, from the barn to the bread oven... the daily life of the peasants of the Causse Méjean until the 1950s is presented “in vivo”.
Yesteryear's furniture, linen, crockery, farming tools and machinery, old photos, the film “Lou Mèjio”, a miniature village and a few farm animals... all bear witness to a life so near and yet so far.
