The Planet of Mills, a museum like no other...

In the heart of the Cahors vineyards, about ten minutes from the Pterosaur Beach in Crayssac, this unique, interactive museum is a true invitation to travel through the centuries and continents... guided by the thread of human ingenuity.

A museum where you can operate models, solve puzzles, and travel through time...

"What could a Chinese clock created in 725, a whisk for whipping cream, a corkscrew, a music box... and an apple peeler possibly have in common? Well, they're all mills!" They all operate thanks to a mill mechanism.

Therein lies the richness of this unique museum: it shows, through dozens of animated models, how humans have harnessed energy—from water, wind, animals, and later steam—to create tools essential to their survival and comfort.

The models come to life before your eyes, some powered by water, others by fans, revealing the mechanical principles that govern the operation of windmills, tide mills, animal-drawn mills, and many more.

"Have you ever heard of windmills that can be oriented according to the direction of the wind? Or dog wheels? Tide mills? Mobile mills for use on battlefields? In this museum, you'll see impressive animated models of all these."

In addition to the tour, the Planet of Mills offers a family treasure hunt throughout the museum.

The challenge is to solve puzzles, collect clues, and find the right codes to open the famous treasure chest.
