A new museum by the architect Emmanuel Nebout
Three years of work were necessary for the architect Emmanuel Nebout (author of the Montpellier Sud de France TGV station, among other projects) to rehabilitate the Musée du Gévaudan.
It was a difficult undertaking because, while preserving the Hôtel de Ressouches in which the Museum is located, it had to be transformed in order to create an attractive and above all comfortable and welcoming space.
The courtyard of the hotel is now the reception hall, where you can meet and chat over a coffee in an exceptional setting. But that's not all: Emmanuel Nebout has designed the tour to be accessible to all, so that anyone can discover the museum's rich collection.
A heritage site registered as a Historic Monument, having received the appellation Musée de France, the museum was conceived as a space of life, discovery, sharing, exchange and conviviality, open to the territory, accessible to all and free.
