In the Quercy region, at the gateway to the Périgord Noir, Benoît Jouclar and his team of volunteers have restored a century's worth of farming tools, bringing back to life this veritable heritage, a testimony to the traditions of daily life.
A little history....
Benoît Jouclar, founder of the museum, decided at the age of 14 to go in search of his grandfather's tractor, a 1948 Farmall Cub (Marshall Plan).
This desire to share his passion and pass it on to the younger generation led to the rest. It was by listening to "the old-timers" that he decided to save this magnificent heritage at all costs.
Every year, he unearths incredible "toys".
The Museum...
On a 6000m2 site, a collection of over 250 tractors, 150 cars and vans, 200 two-wheelers, motorcycles, bicycles... motorcycles, and a thousand items and objects in their period environment. Plus a guide who will share with you the evolution of rural machinery and tell you a few surprising anecdotes.
The museum is designed for anyone with a passion for the world of agriculture, cars, the everyday objects of our "elders", or the simply curious.
Among the latest additions: a bread oven where you can enjoy recipes from yesteryear, reconstructions of the school and grocery store of yesteryear, an old trades area with life-size characters and animals, a model area, toys from my childhood, irons, coffee grinders, gramophones and phonographs, sewing machines, dolls, activities for children and a Renault Schooner, a circuit for children, pedal cars and tractors...
The Museum is open daily from 09:00 to 19:00.
