The House of Bayonne Ham

At the crossroads of the Basque Country, the Landes, the Gers and the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the village of Arzacq houses the Maison du Jambon de Bayonne.
This House of Ham, which opened its doors in January 2001, retraces the history and the different traditions related to the famous ham.

The visitor discovers this history through a playful journey (frescoes, models, tools, games, panels, screens). The auditorium offers the public a film on the Bayonne Ham PGI. The largest part of the museum presents the history of Bayonne Ham and information on its maturing and production.

Since 2020, a virtual reality room allows visitors to immerse themselves completely in the production workshops. Guided by the head of production, you can discover, as if you were there, the salting, resting and maturing of PGI Bayonne Ham.

A store also offers products for sale.
