Marcel Pierre-Jean Figasso, known as Figas, futuristic fantasy painter and engraver, was born in Nice on August 09, 1935.
"A quasi-secret artist who had long remained outside the usual circuits, in 1990 he presented a synthesis exhibition at the Galerie de la Fondation Sophia Antipolis and published a catalog raisonné of his paintings.
The real work began in 1958, after he had given up engraving and destroyed his first style. Like a journeyman completing his "masterpiece", it took Figas more than 15 years to create a deliberately timeless edifice on a site with great resonance, and to present the whole of his work, culminating in a 60m² painted dome.
The dome museum alternates between 300 fantastic futuristic paintings by Marcel Figas, including the mandala painting "L'Intégrale 86", which satellite 281 of them.
At the heart of the building, a 60 m² "Identiterre" memory dome completes the work.
