Château de Tennessus, a rendezvous with the Middle Age

Château de Tennessus is an imposing 14th-century fortified castle, surrounded by a moat with working drawbridge, loopholes, parapet walk and granite fireplaces. It is set in a quiet, rustic park with great charm.
Inside, the magnificent rooms are furnished in keeping with their medieval setting. Access is via a spiral staircase.

An authentically medieval setting

The château offers five majestic, spacious rooms (100 m2), each with private bath or shower and toilet:

- la chambre Royale - at the top of the 14th-century keep, with a spectacular view over the entire Gatine region thanks to numerous loopholes, gunports... Entirely furnished in medieval style with Templar stanchions and period-style armory, this ravishing room has a king-size double bed with canopy and carved panels in pleated toweling, plus a very pretty vaulted bathroom with bathtub.

- the chambre du Chevalier - partitioned double bed with heraldic decorations, crests, hangings and period furniture, oak tables, granite fireplaces, iron torches and candlesticks...

- the chambre Seigneuriale - a four-poster double bed, with its monumental granite fireplace, sculpted seats and medieval tapestries.

- The Watchtower and Chatelaine suites.

You can also visit the medieval garden, take a boat trip in the castle moat or go fishing.

During the school year, children can take part in workshops on medieval history.
