Created by Jacques Testet, who also designed the Musée des Poupées folkloriques, the Musée de l'outil manuel features a collection of several thousand antique hand tools, an old-fashioned kitchen with its utensils, a baker's oven and machines from the 17th and 18th centuries.
There's also an exhibition of engravings from the past, and a guided tour. The tour ends in the winegrower's cellar, producer of AOC Côtes de Duras.
Domaine du Chauffour presents over ten vintages, including a Sauvignon unique to the region, aged in the Atlantic Ocean.
Open daily, July 1 to August 31, 10am to 6pm. Closed on Sundays. Open all year round for groups. Price for a visit to Soumensac's 3 museums: €4.
