David Steinfeld's big wooden beasts

In Monoblet, in the Cévennes, David Steinfeld is a cabinetmaker who, with his team, creates life-size animals, original playgrounds, sculptures and outdoor furniture in solid wood.
David Steinfeld's games and sculptures have already been installed at various sites in the region and throughout France.
Montpellier owes him a debt of gratitude for the wild beasts in the Parc du Lunaret and, at one time, the statues on the Comédie.
In Grau-du-Roi, his sculptures are on display at the Seaquarium.
He has animals in the Parc des châtaigniers in Le Vigan, and a playground in Brissac. At La Défense, near Paris, he has created some twenty giant instruments. With Nathalie Massot, artist and animator, and other woodworkers, he has been cutting, assembling, gluing and sanding for months. We had to open the big doors of the 280 m2 workshop, which could no longer contain a whale under construction. His play sculptures are made from Canadian Red Cedar: “This cedar is light and easy to work,” explains David Steinfield. “It's not nervous and doesn't warp. Once sanded, it's soft and pleasant to the touch, never aggressive.

Children can cuddle the big beasts.
