Perhaps it would be necessary to give the palm of originality to this museum of the Tarn et Garonne ?
Yvan Quercy began his collection in the 70s.
He buys for 50 francs the horse-drawn hearse of Alzonne in the department of Aude. The hearse museum was born! Since that date and for more than thirty years, Yvan Quercy never stopped recovering everything that mayors wanted to get rid of.
Nearly a hundred hearses are thus installed in the garages built on the hillsides of Minguet.
On December 5, 2006, Yvan Quercy in turn "fell asleep" in his hearse and his wife, Marie France and his son, also named Yvan, took over.
The Yvan Quercy museum displays more than 100 hearses from the 17th to the 20th century as well as carts, carriages and other agricultural equipment.
The museum is in fact devoted to everything that was harnessed to a horse in the 19th century: carts, barrels and beacons and conceals a few jewels, such as this royal cart from 1750 whose lower part is of the period.
Yvan Quercy liked to call himself a philicorbolian.
In addition to the museum you can take a carriage ride and taste the local products.
