Doors you want some...
In Pézenas are gathered in a museum a hundred old doors, 110 today, from the 16th to the 20th century.
Opened in 1993, by Serge Ivorra, carpenter companion of the Tour de France and Guy Abellanet, this museum offers, divided into six rooms, wonderful examples of old doors.
In the showcases are also displayed many ironwork tools: diamond or acanthus leaf studs, knockers and moustache knobs, but also a 17th century mullioned window with original paint and stained glass or a sash window cited in the Encyclopedia Diderot et d'Alenbert.
All the doors acquired by Serge Ivorra are however not exposed...
Admission is free, the visitor is invited to pay a participation of his choice at the exit.
This museum is aimed at the general public as well as professionals: carpenters, ironworkers, architects looking for models for the restoration of old buildings.
Pézenas also counts among its curiosities... the Toy Museum as well as a museum to the glory of Bobby Lapointe, a local child.
