Explored in 1889 by Edouard-Alfred Martel, the Gouffre de Padirac, the most famous in Europe, is considered as one of the greatest geological curiosities of France.
Located 8km from Rocamadour, it offers unforgettable sensations and... legends.
After a vertiginous descent to a depth of 103 m, we embark on the underground river for a boat ride.
You will discover the Grande Pendeloque, a giant stalactite of 60 m high, which, as if suspended from a thread, seems to be admired on the surface of the Rainy Lake.
Then you will continue on foot to the Great Dome Room whose vault rises to 94 m high. This room offers a multitude of concretions, cascades of calcite, shaped by nature during millions of years.
The temperature is around 13 degrees all year round, so it is advisable to bring warm clothes.
To protect this natural setting, it is not possible to take pictures or film during the visit.
