There used to be high schools, middle schools and theatres, now there is the Loupian - Georges Brassens area, on the A9 motorway between Béziers and Sète, a poetic halt dedicated to the work of the neighbour from Sète.
Vinci Autoroutes offers a unique cultural stopover to users of its network. A walk through the life and work of Georges Brassens.
The Loupian area offers a magnificent view of the Thau lagoon, the famous "grandmare of ducks".
The sculptor, Thierry Delorme, to whom Vinci Autoroutes entrusted the creation of the statue, has written and designed with his wife, Pascale Delorme, the route and all the works that mark it out, depicting characters and scenes emblematic of the world of Georges Brassens. Large enamelled plaques also reproduce on chequered sheets handwritten excerpts from a selection of his songs, allowing one to discover or rediscover all the poetry and creative humour of the composer.
An invitation to discover the cultural heritage of Sète and its surroundings.
