Les Bains de Dorres, as in the good old days of the Romans

After a day on the slopes, how about a hot spring bath at an altitude of 1,450 meters, 14 kilometers from Font-Romeu and 8 kilometers from the Spanish border at Puigcerda?

It was the Romans who first tapped this natural hot spring.
Since 1991, the commune has been operating and developing the open-air pools.
Fed by a thermal spring that emerges from the ground at 40°, 2 outdoor baths, the old washhouse and the new pool, are complemented by 2 antique individual granite tubs.
Exceptional scenery and views of the snow-capped Canigou peak and the Cadi mountain range.
These warm, sulfurous waters are recommended for soothing aches and pains after physical exertion.
So it's easy to see why skiers are so keen to immerse themselves in steaming 38° water after a day on the slopes of Catalan resorts. A pure moment of happiness and relaxation.

In Dorres, a museum evokes the period of the Picapedrers: the stonemasons who made Dorres rich at the beginning of the last century.
